For several years I have been writing with a partner. Over time I came to feel that my identity had been submerged into our dual identity, an identity that was hers more than mine, but that is neither here nor there. , but it did get me thinking about how we identify ourselves. Think about the many email identities you may have or your friends and family have.  What does their chose moniker say about them?

Is it code for a secret identity they would like to have? I have several friends whose email address reveals desire for a more glamorous persona than the one they present to society. Some people include their birthday as part of their personal email address, like saying here I am this is when I came into being.

Other popular email handles reference hobbies or hopes for the future.  I am not specifying any particular names just pondering what certain selections mean.   In today’s world our email, hashtags, and other social media conventions are often how people think of us and remember us, so what do our email and other social media identifies  tell the world about us.  Do they proclaim who we are, who we want to be, or maybe who we hope to be.
